C3 coupes were the first Corvette models to feature removable T-top roof panels. What’s more, the 1968 Corvette was the first American-made vehicle to have a T-top.

C3 T-top roofs came in several styles. From 1968 through 1977, T-top panels were made of fiberglass. Starting in 1978, Chevrolet began to produce C3 Corvette glass roof panels. These versions featured a glass center surrounded by fiberglass. The C3 series went on to have several glass-top variations, many of which were referred to as “mirror tops.”
