Drivers stated that their vehicle’s gear shifter wouldn’t move out of the “Park” position, making it impossible for them to move the car. In 1975, cars featured catalytic converters and lead-based fuel to meet the new emissions requirements. But these additions reduced the engine power of Corvettes and other sports cars. The 1975 Corvette’s engine only reached 165 horsepower, much to the disappointment of drivers.

1975 also marked the departure of Zora Arkus-Duntov, the man recognized as the father of the Corvette. Once he left the company, many fans worried about the Corvette’s future.

Because of its low-performance capabilities, many consider the 1975 Corvette to be one of the less reliable models in the car’s history.

2. 1979 Corvette

Another unreliable Corvette example is the 1979 model. The 1979 version failed to impress drivers with limited new features and another weak engine due to emissions restrictions. While previous Corvette models were famous for their high-powered engines, the 1979 Corvette failed to live up to these expectations.

4. 1982 Corvette

But the car had many performance issues and ultimately became known as one of the less reliable Corvettes of all time.

Some of the common issues with the 1987 Callaway Twin Turbo include:

Engine stalls: Many drivers reported difficulties with their engines, which would stall or surge suddenly. In some cases, it would accelerate uncontrollably, leading to unsafe driving conditions.
Fuel pump failure: The car’s fuel pump would often fail prematurely, leading to expensive replacements.
