• The C5 Corvette 1997-2004 Cowl Induction Carbon Fiber Hood is made from 100% ISO-certified, Grade A carbon fiber material.
• The Corvette Carbon Fiber Hood is manufactured using a two-step construction process. First, the top layer is composed of carbon fiber material bonded to the hood surface with high grade epoxy resin, and finished with an ultra-clear (Poly Shield), UV protected polyurethane coating for a high gloss finish. Then a one piece, smooth underside shell is fused to that top layer strengthening the overall hood's structural integrity, and the edges are hand smoothed to ensure a top-quality finish.
• In 2014 this operation incorporated the use of the Vacuum Infusion Process, which uses a single mold vacuum to allow for the parts to be manufactured 10-20% lighter while improving durability.
• Hood pins are required for the use of the Corvette Carbon Fiber Hood.
