This has a cover plate that protects against contaminants leaking into the bearing surface and the plate allows for tighter tolerances as compared to the traditional design so the part will be more durable. The socket design is greaseable, which allows new lubricant to get rid of contaminants from the assembly and reduces wear and corrosion. The Sunoloy coated metal bearings provide smooth stud swing. The powdered metal gusher bearing design enables the grease to flow through the bearing to the stud for enhanced strength and reduced friction.
